Looks like I will be joining the ranks of ar3006. Did get his press instead of the conversion though.

Just a little suggestion. I take the bleed off from my core forming step and set it aside. When I actually start seating the bullet I measure core and jacket and either shave off from the core or add the little pieces of bleed off to get extremely consistent bullet weight.

Good luck with the new dies and happy addiction.

Would like to just go through the steps of how I am using these dies and what I am trying to accomplish.

The first two steps here can be done in any order. Clean the jacket or lube and cut the cores.

Here I put the jackets into a jar with a bit of Acetone. Sloshed around for just a little bit to remove anything that may have been left by the jacket maker. If you think there is no lube left in there you would definitely be surprised what still comes out in this process.

Jackets are now being left out to dry while I am preforming the core squirting process. They sure do look fantastic if you ask me.

Lead wire before cutting it down. I get it sent to me in sticks.

They then gets cut into cores that are about 3 grains over what I want them to be at final weight for the bleed off die. These here are around 51.3 grains.

They then get lubed with pure lanolin and a bit of fun for the kids and I. Eventually I will be getting a rotary tumbler for this step but for now they get to help. The inside of the jar is smeared with a bit of lube and then in go the cores before going to the bleed off die. Rolled around back and fourth until the kids (or I) get tired.

Now to the bleed off die they go. Not as easy as I thought to take a photo of this step while doing it. Just a bit of lead wire after going through the bleed off die.

The cores are squirted to 48.2 grains. With this weight plus the jacket 16.8 we are making a 65 gr 7s FB projectile. Sorry I thought I had the whole scale in this photo but you get the idea.

After all the cores have been bled off they then go back into the jar with a bit of Acetone sloshed around to remove the Lanolin left on them. They are then air dried

I told you I wanted 69gr projectiles, not 65! Don't make me come over to your house and take your setup away.

You get me the jackets and I will make the projectiles. Oh and if you want rebated boat tails YOU need to buy the die.

Hopefully will have the rest of it up today. Just depends on if Doomsday Preppers sucks me in or not?

Jackets have now been rolled around in the pickle jar again to spread the lube around. First time I did them I was finding from the finished projectile signs of too much lube. They went back again with some Acetone to clean and then lube applied again. I think I finally figured out how much lube to use.

Here is the core seating process.

Jackets with the core seated. Sorry I did not do any photos of the pointing process but the final product.

They you look pretty nice, send us some pictures of final product you've loaded,
I had very good luck with my first run, with the Dr. Blackman set of dies that I bought.

I shot a group of three a 1/2 inch circle at 50 yards, still have not worked it up to 100 yards, it is been a busy summer didn't have much chance to get to the range.

OK so finally went to the range the other day and this is the best groups that I shot. I am confident that these can get much smaller. 33 degrees and up to 15 mph gusts.

52 gr FBHP 22lr

7 ea of my 65 gr FBHP Copper Jacketed Projectiles

The 52 gr projectiles at 100 yards!

65 gr projectiles at 100 yards!
