I may be completely wrong in my thinking but if Lino has a BNH around 22 and pure lead has a BNH of 6-8 and you want a two to one mixture could you do your math like this? (I may be completely wrong here)

22(Lino)+22(Lino)+6(pure lead)= 50 then divide 50 by 3 (50/3=16.7) to get an average BNH of 16.7 which is similar to Lyman#2 alloy

...and again I may be completely wrong in my thinking.

I am still very new to casting. I will look into and see what I can find. I am not sure myself. I have not gotten into alloy mixing. I am still using wheel weights for my casting and pure lead for my swaging.

Hi guys, according to the Reloaders Ref. a 2 to 1 mix of lead and lino will produce an alloy of: 94.67% lead, 1.33%tin, & 4 antimony. It says it should yield a BHN of approx. 12%. If you want I can post a link to the Reloaders Ref. It has many load data plus this alloy calculator. Makes life a little easier.

Here is the link to the ref. material I spoke of. You will need microsoft access (or something compatible ) for it to run on. It has targets , load data , an inventory data base and a lot more. I'm still finding new stuff in it all the time. Just copy and paste into your browser to check it out.
