Taking .001 our of a Lee sizing die isn't hard to do with a 3/8 dowel and some fine wet and dry paper and oil .
Their dies aren't really that hard and the sizing area is small .

I made my first ingots today. I think im going to have to get a better heat source the ingots frosted really bad and I got 3 of them stuck in the mold. Im useing a cup cake pan and not a very good one I might add well I guess it would be great for cup cakes but not really that good for lead ingots. the cups in the pan are separate from the body of the pan when I tried to knock out the stuck ones it knocked the whole cup out and the lead is still stuck in there im just gonna melt it out next time I smelt. Had alot of fun though so I guess its workin out.

only fill the cups about 3/4 full. Once they cool for a bit in the pan, they should fall right out when you turn it over.

thats what i used is a muffin pan they came out ok. I need a smaller heating pot like a cast round pot . I useing a SS pan about 12" by 16" x 5" my heat source dont cover that much area so I had to like work out of one side of it. First try got 7 ingots made . Well we can twick as we learn . I use to make boolits for my BLK powder guns but i used clean lead . these wheel weights a bit dirty.

i did some more casting today use all of hughies ingots lol at first i could not get good bullets i tried all four of my molds non of them wanted to fill out right so after about 100 rejected bullets or so i started geting aggrevated and i pulled out the lee instructions i followed all the steps expect for smoking i dont think that is nessicery any ways i couldnt figured it out then i remembered what DW had told me about sticking the mold into the lead so i tried that and it worked perfectly i got about 75 or so good bullets out after that i was just heating the mold on top the pot apperently it wasnt getting hot enough after i put it in the lead for about 5 sec it was perfect! il try to get some pics later!

Great to hear Hemlock!!! To post pics, you will see a double square inside a box above the box your typing in. Press that box and show the computer where the pics are. Then, after you hit upload, copy the middle file and paste it that code here in this box. To get rid of the upload box, just hit the box with the double square again...

Or upload the pics to either photobucket or tinypic and copy the IMG code and paste that code here in the box....

HOpe that helps
